This is the Story of Lucky Chick
Born in art. Built in grit. Blooming still.
Where It Began

“Lucky Chick wasn’t just a name. It was a mindset — and I followed it wherever it led me.”
The Nickname (NYC, 1999)
The name Lucky Chick came from a tiny apartment labeled “LC.” A friend casually called out, “Hey Lucky Chick!” and that moment bloomed into something much bigger. It wasn’t just a nickname — it became a persona, a dream, a brand.
From Painted Boxes to Product
I imagined a Lucky Chick’s life: bath rituals, color, indulgence, joy. I drew it all onto pink donut boxes and started calling labs. One said: “I think you’ve got something.” That’s all I needed. The journey had begun.
First Trade Show, First Love
With my family rooting me on, I launched Lucky Chick at a NYC trade show. Buyers flooded in — and so did fate. Across the aisle was a man I’d flirt with for years before we danced our first night away at the Hudson Hotel.
Global Growth & Licensing
From Bloomingdale’s to Harrods, Lucky Chick became a self-care ritual sold around the world. In 2007, I licensed the brand and took a breath — knowing the story wasn’t over, just evolving.
Motherhood & The Return
My greatest creation came next — twins. As I raised my boys, Lucky Chick was never far from my mind. One day, one of them touched my necklace and said, “This stands for Lucky Chick.” In that moment, I realized the story I started was becoming part of theirs too.
The Color Relaunch
I reclaimed the brand and reimagined it through color. Our lipsticks, glosses, and eye colors are all vegan, clean, and expressive. The formulas nourish — but the intention is even deeper: to reflect who you really are.
Coming Full Circle: Wellness
Now, I’m returning to where Lucky Chick started — with body care, self-care, and sensory joy. Our new wellness line is a love letter to confidence, ritual, and the power of a good soak after a long day of showing up.
Rooted in Art
Lucky Chick was born from an art school sketchpad, inspired by a creative legacy I carry from my family — especially my mother, Bonnie Sakoff. A painter and photographer, she created the bright poppy that graces our packaging. She painted it while recovering from breast cancer — a bloom of hope, healing, and beauty.
I studied at Cooper Union and the School of Visual Arts, and later at the International School of Color and Design in Sydney. My entire education was rooted in creating meaning through form and color. Today, Lucky Chick carries that mission forward — to make every woman feel like a masterpiece.
Art isn’t just part of our story — it’s in every stroke, shade, and shimmer.
“I created Lucky Chick for every woman who’s ever dared to dream — in color, in courage, in confidence.”
